Carrot & Pea Curry

Description A fairly qyick and easy curry, cheap too.

  • 250g diced carrot
  • 250g peas
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • small piece ginger
  • Salt & chilli to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • OPTIONAL:
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 handful finely chopped carrot greens
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • If you've grown chick peas green chick peas may be substituted for the peas
Method/steps
  1. Fry the onion and garlic gently until soft and translucent
  2. Turn the heat up and add the turmeric, ginger, and cumin seeds (if using)
  3. Add the carrots, and salt
  4. Add the carrot greens afyer about 5 minutes
  5. When the carrots are almost cooked add the peas and chilli
  6. Add the garam masala and/or coriander just before removing from the heat
Additional Tips
This recipe can take a wide variety of fresh beans, peas etc as well as different root vegetables, turnip and broad bean or whatever, don't be scared experiment
