- 1lb granulated sugar
- 2oz butter
- 1/8 pint single cream or evaporated milk
- 1/8 pint fresh milk
- 2oz golden syrup
Method/steps
- Put all ingredients into a big heavy pan.
- Stir over gentlr heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Turn up heat and bring to the boil, stirring all the time till 240C or when a drop tested in cold water forms a soft ball.
- Cool for a little while and then beat with wooden spoon until creamy.
- Pour into baking tin and cut up when cold.
