- CAKE
- 8oz self-raising flour
- 6oz margarine
- 6oz sugar
- 3 eggs
- FILLING
- 4oz ground almonds
- 4oz sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- TOPPING
- Big bar of chocolate.
Method/steps
- Cream margarine and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and beat in,one at a time.
- Fold in sifted flour and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, mix together
- ground almonds and sugar.
- Mix to a paste with egg.
- Line cake tin with greaseproof paper.
- Divide chocolate mixture in half and put one half in tin, spread evenly.
- Spread the almond filling over this, then spread the remaining chocolate mixture over the top.
- Cook for 1 hour at Gas 3.
- Turn out of tin and allow to cool on wire tray.
- Melt big bar of chocolate and spread over top of cake.
