3 eggs
175g/6oz SR Flour
175g/6oz Caster Sugar
175g/6oz Butter/soft Marg (softened/at room temp)
11/2 tsp baking powder
Method/steps
Grease and/or line a 7-8" cake tin.

Preheat oven to ~180

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and beat together untill you have a well combined mixture with a dropping consistency ie will slowly drop of a spoon when inverted. If the mixture appears too thick add a little milk to loosen it.

Bake cake in oven for ~35minutes untill a skewer will come out clean and it springs back to the touch

Note this is a very versitile recipe. You can add cocoa powder to make a chocolate cake, strong coffee to make a coffee cake, chopped up apples to make an apple cake (not this is best baked in a square tin) or ground pistacios to make a pistachio cake!
