Masala tea

Description A warmly spiced tea, commonly drunk in India and Pakistan

  • 2 mugs water
  • 1 tsp tea (or 1 teabag)
  • 1 stick cinammon
  • 3 or 4 cloves
  • a few fennel seeds
  • 1 black cardomom
  • a couple of green cardomom
Method/steps
  1. Heat the water and spices in a pan till boiling
  2. add the tea, allow to boil for a further minute or so
  3. add milk to taste
  4. simmer until the taste/consistency is to your liking
  5. Some people simmer for up to 15 minutes.
Additional Tips
A thick comforting drink not a light refreshing cuppa.
