Tamarind dipping sauce
Created by tahir, Wednesday, 04 June 2008
Description This is a quick and easy dipping sauce based on store cupboard ingredients, it's (very loosely) based on something my mum used to make so I suppose it's Indianish.

Makes
a small bowl
1/2 tub Tamarind paste

 4-6 dates

salt and chilli (green or dried) to taste

water

Hunt down Blue Dragon tanmarind paste if you can, it's MUCH better than Barts, you'll probably find other makes in Asian shops but BDs the best I've tried.

Method/steps
Put all the ingredients in a blender and whizz till smooth, some people like it thin others quite gloopy, likewise with the balance of hot/sweet/sour, fiddle with it till you're happy with consistemcy and flavour.
