Description
A tangy chick pea salad

- 1/2lb cooked chick peas
- 1/2lb boiled potatos cut into 1/2 to 1" cubes
- 1 cucumber deseeded and diced very small
- 1 onion sliced as fine as you can
- loads of coriander and mint chopped finely
- chillis chopped finely (use chilli powder if you don't have fresh)
- salt to taste
- 3 tsp tamarind paste (There's one by Barts which is very good, a lot better than the stuff in Asian shops)
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
Method/steps
- Bring all the ingredients together in a bowl, mix thoroughly and leave covered in the fridge for at least an hour, should be left overnight for maximum flavour.
- The oil isn't absolutely necessary but stops it going sludgy
