I started making tiara's when I was planning for my own wedding. I hunted for 'just the thing' online and in all the magazines, but couldn't really find what I was looking for, or they were FAR too expensive. I started with some basic sketches, then decided to take my experience in jewellery-making ( a good 7 years by that time) and made my own!
Since then I've made several tiara's for family and friends who have also married, and thanks to their
compliments over the years and to Downsizer for that final push, I decided to start creating them for others too!For your bridesmaid or flowergirl tiara's, I can match the beads to a specific fabric (if you send a small swatch of the fabric) or to a colour scheme or style.
Tiaras start at around £25, but the prices on the website are for guidance only, it totally depends on the cost of materials going into your own tiara, the level of detail and which metal is used (for example, Sterling Silver is obviously a lot more expensive than Silver Plated). I know how expensive weddings can be, even if you cut a lot of corners and make a lot of your own stuff, so I WILL NOT charge you more than is necessary for my time and materials. I see it as a way to make some of my money back on a hobby that I love.
I'm very happy for you to design your own tiara too, even if your design skills aren't as good as some, if you want to have a go, we can work together to come up with exactly what you want for your big day. I hope to create a tool so that you can do this on the website eventually.Remember, it's your day, you should have exactly what you want, and I like to give my Brides the tiara they really want. If there's something a bit more 'out there' that you fancy, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do!
I also make crowns (as seen in the image above) and hairpins (which aren't featured on the website at the moment), hairpins will be around the £5 mark.
