Stay all year round in a restored Grade II listed barn on a working farm

overlooking an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

If you’re suffering from too much traffic, too much noise, too much stress, or just TOO MUCH, if you appreciate beautiful unspoilt countryside and traditional country life, if you enjoy walking, bird watching, visiting places of interest and well-equipped, comfortable surroundings, Hareley Barn could be just what you’re looking for.

About the barn:
When we converted Hareley Barn we decided not to do what everyone else did, but to start a fresh piece of paper with lists of ‘Things We Liked’ and, just as important, ‘Things We didn’t Like’ about cottages we’d holidayed in, such as, tiny baths, skimpy bed linen and can openers that don’t. Hareley Barn includes good quality bed linen, baths that you can stretch out in and can-openers that do.

The Barn is Grade II listed, built from stone quarried on the farm. It has been sensitively restored, preserving the hayrack and cattle stall as well as a wealth of wooden beams. There are panoramic views across the valley.

The services are entirely modern and include full gas central heating, a spa bath and walk-in shower.

Hareley Barn has a spacious living room with a log burning stove, dining area, sofa and sofa bed.

There is also digital television, video recorder and stereo/CD player.

The separate kitchen includes a twin oven electric cooker, microwave and refrigerator with freezer compartment.

The Barn can sleep up to 7. It has two spacious bedrooms. One has a queen-size bed plus en suite bathroom with an antique style bath, toilet and washbasin. The second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms contain a convertible single bed. A separate bathroom has a splash shower, spa bath, toilet and washbasin.

We provide a hand and bath towel for each person .We also supply eco-friendly kitchen surface cleaner, washing up liquid, shampoo and soap. (The wastewater from the farm is bio-filtered and eventually ends up in the stream - which in turn goes into our sheep!) You will also find kitchen roll and two tea towels in the kitchen and toilet rolls in each bathroom. Beds are made up with good quality linen and non-allergenic duvets and pillows. Laundry facilities are available

For keen cooks we supply a comprehensive list of kitchen equipment, to save you having to bring along food that may melt, or break on the journey, we supply a complimentary pack of semi-skimmed milk, butter and eggs.

Continental breakfast packs are available at a nominal charge.

We grow vegetables, fruit, herbs and salads for our own use and for sale.

The level access, wide doorways and walk in shower in the separate bathroom provide easy access for less able guests.

If you are bringing children they will be able to use the fenced play area.

There are a selection of videos some suitable for children.

A travel cot, high chair and suitable toys are available at no extra charge.

Please ask for these when booking.

There is an abundance of wildlife on our woodland and pasture.

The barbecue area has log seats, a table and some of the best views. Please note that there are steep banks and an unfenced stream. Young children should be kept under supervision.

If you are interested, we offer a guided farm walk during your stay.

About the area:
Hareley Farm overlooks an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Herefordshire and Worcestershire borders. There are stunning views overlooking Bringsty Common and Bromyard Downs and out to the Malverns where streams wind through woods and farms in an area renowned for its 16th Century timber-framed buildings.Fetes, flower and music festivals take place throughout the year. The National Trust property of Brockhampton is a mile away across the valley. There are two pubs within walking distance and excellent footpaths around the farm. The nearby market town of Bromyard offers a good range of independent shops. Further afield are country towns to explore, stately homes, gardens and other attractions as well as the cathedral cities of Hereford, Worcester and the Black And White Trail. The numerous local plant nurseries make this a fascinating destination for garden lovers.

Booking Information:
The weekly letting period normally begins on a Saturday. Short breaks of one or more nights can be taken at any time.

Electricity, gas and laundry facilities are included.

For the convenience of other guests, smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
